She is very active and loves to play, she sleeps after playing or going to the restroom, she knows to go to the restroom in the pad (although sometimes I do have the occasional accident), we try to take her out to the yard to poop and pee after she eats and she does half of the time. I feed her three times a day and almost everything seems normal. The only concern I have is that she has loose poop, not watery or anything like that, it has a shape but it is just soft. I feed her Science Diet and I have read that it is very bad so I am planning to change her to Merrick just for pups. Today was the first day that she threw up, although it was almost nothing, but after that she was very playful and happy and then went right to bed. I guess what I am trying to get at is.. I now know that 6 weeks is a little too young and I was just wondering how to make my puppy happy and not have any future problems. Any suggestions on how to keep my puppy healthy would be great |
In the general forum look under a thread called Poppy is home. We offered plenty of advice there. But I'll try to answer some of your questions.
6wks is too young first because she doesnt have all her shots to go outside. I would keep her on peepads for a while longer. How much does your baby weigh?
In the YT library look up the thread on Dr Jean Dodd's vacination protocol before you go for her shots, take this to your vet.
Soft and formed stools is not a bad thing at all. Are you softening the kibble for her?
If you change her food change it over gradually. Adding a little bit of the new kibble in with the old, and over a period of 5 days or so, until finally she is eating all new food.
You can get some nutri cal to have on hand as well.
