Also, try not to reward him for barking. Don't take him out of the carrier when he is barking, wait until he settles by saying "SHHH". Don't pick him up when barking or whining. They learn quickly if you reward this bad behavior. I have the cutest little Yorkie named Buster, he's smart, adorable, sweet BUT has the brattiest, sharpest little bark that I really dislike!! But he didn't find his voice until he was about 14 weeks old and I had him for a month by then and of course was smitten, that is his only negative so I just have to live with it and control it!! Good Luck.
