I just heard on the news yesterday that people in the Florida Keys are now fighting another mosquitoe carrying disease.....The Dengue Fever...there are no meds to fight it. Don't know what adverse affect it has on animals.
I do follow the experts advice, however, I'm very fortunate that the vet I use in Texas is very thorough in explaining and listening to me. He sits on the board of Veterinary Medicine and works closely with Dr. Center. He knows that I participate actively with their vet care and research everything. |
I too have read about the Dengue virus and it is scary stuff! I wonder how mosquitoes don't transmit even more diseases than they do being blood drinkers. I've gotten better at discussing issues with my vet. I am after all paying for his time.
I should add, that since May 25th, since his surgery, I haven't paid for one single follow up. He tells me when I go out the door, no charge for today.
Laci, I'm really glad he's not in a lot of pain. An anti-inflamatory probably woudn't hurt.
