I did live in Texas and had all my dogs on it. But, just before a girl came into Season I took her off of it. And the male too. I don't want any poisons in their system, but heartworm meds are a necessary evil when you live in mosquitoe country.

I just heard on the news yesterday that people in the Florida Keys are now fighting another mosquitoe carrying disease.....The Dengue Fever...there are no meds to fight it. Don't know what adverse affect it has on animals.

I do follow the experts advice, however, I'm very fortunate that the vet I use in Texas is very thorough in explaining and listening to me. He sits on the board of Veterinary Medicine and works closely with Dr. Center. He knows that I participate actively with their vet care and research everything.
