Congratulations on your new pup. Sounds like he found his voice early. You may get lucky and he will feel more relaxed once he is with you full time.
Try giving him a tshirt that you have worn. Pups often find the scent comforting when they are separated from their owners.
Maintain a calm, confident demeanor around your pup. If he senses you are aggravated or too animated, he will become anxious or too excited and probably want to bark.
Start using key command words and hand gestures like "quiet" or "shhhh" with your finger to your mouth. Be consistent with how and when you give corrections. Praise your pup when he obeys. Say, "What a good boy" in a pleasing tone.
You can also use a can with a few coins to shake when he is barking.
Traveling in the car and going to vet may take training. Always make everything as happy an experience as possible. When crating or putting him in an xpen so that you can do things like go to the bathroom, tell him that you will be back. Gradually increase the amount of time you leave him and return.
Hope some of this helps you. |
