So sorry you didn't get what you bargained for. But you've got the advantage of being more prepared than most yorkie owners by virtue of all the research you've been doing before she came home. When we picked up Scarlett from the rescue, we were told she was 8 weeks- turns out she was probably closer to 6 and had no teeth! It was a scary first week without a doubt.
First off, how is she doing eating? I'm sure you already have nutrical available, but you might want to have the things ready to in case you need to resort to a forumla feeding. The breeders here recommended I mix equal parts canned goats milk and distilled water with a dollop of karo syrup in it. Scarlett also really liked baby rice cereal mixed with the formula until her teeth started coming in. If she won't drink the forumula, you may need to syringe feed her.
Keep play sessions short, no more than 10-15 minutes.
Keep her warm and out of drafts- they chill of quickly.
At 5 weeks, she still may need help peeing and pooing. A warm cloth to the bottom after feeding can help stimulate her to go.
Let me go see if I can find my thread with some of the other advice the breeders gave me. BRB.
