I do both my dogs (and the other 4 humans here too!) I started on my wheaten terrier Lucy 9 years ago, no one around here was to familiar with the breed and wanted $50 -I figured I could do that and started practicing! Ziva is a lot smaller so it goes way faster, I have kept her in a puppy cut until now,I use a dulled point scissor, I have tried the clippers but her hair seems too fine or soft, I might have to buy a finer trimmer. I sit her on a towel on the kitchen counter, put some treats in front of her and sing or hum "pretty dog" nonsense.I start on her back and if she cooperates I keep going. some times I break it into 2 days.
If you trim before every bath you can keep it up easily. |
