Well I introduced them today. Emmett (the bunny) was in his double x-pen in the family room. It is open in the day, and he was having a second breakfast. Max (the nine month old Yorkie was in his soft carrier.
Max was fascinated by Emmett but soon started barking. Emmett was did not freak out as I thought he might. My husband said the whole thing went much better than expected.
We think Max wanted out to meet the bunny. The bunny was not really threatened by him. I pet the bunny a lot in front of Max and so did my husband. My husband also fed Emmett some of his favorite treat: dried cherry bits. Emmett ate them which he will never do if he is upset. |
