 The worst part is that I did my research. I visited her house, sat with her, met her in person. I don't know how she lives with herself. Even if it's something so minimal, I'm only asking for support. God forbid Cooper did something. She can still support me and help me and direct me.

  Exactly.  There is something wrong with her behavior and my guess is that she is defensive because she has been through this before. Just my thoughts.  Anyone who truly loved the pups they had bred simply would not act this way.  
As a rescuer, I place dogs in homes and they are like my babies. If an adopter called me with a problem like this, I would be just as upset as them. I simply cannot imagine any animal lover behaving this way.   
She sounds more like she is concerned with her livelihood imho. From the beginning, telling you to euthanize him if he had LS. What the heck. Not like it could not be fixed...and she knows that. So...clearly this is about money.
