I think it's a "manly" thing...they don't want to lose their Man-card by loving a little, hairy dog...now a Great Dane, Boxer, or German Sheppard they can express love too because they are "big, manly" dogs. My hubby will kiss and cuddle Piper but he does have his Boxers too...it's the cat he acts like he doesn't care about because cats are lower than little, hairy dogs I guess to the male species
