Toto does the same thing! I have discovered that she likes to go very slowly around most strangers but warms up to them in her own time! She hates loud noises ... I don't think she will ever get used to that ... I believe it's because they have such keen hearing. After she gets used to people and new things ... watch out!! They ARE fearless!!
