My little Yorkie Boy 15 months old and just got diagnosed with a liver shunt. They did the full bloodwork and his ammonia levels are really high. They put him on Hills U/D food and lactulose 3 times a day. I have heard that Hills is not that great either? Previously he was on Blue Buffalo food with Dinovite supplements. I hear a raw food diet might help. Can anyone tell me what foods to feed him or what recipes to help his liver heal? I want to do everything I can to help him avoid surgery. The vet wants to work on diet first, then surgery last. Please help!!!!
