Willie was attacked once when we were on the beach. Willie was on the lead, because he gets distracted easily and will just run off, and the area I was living in at the time, there are lots of dogs and their owners out all the time. Anyway, we were on the beach minding our own business when a woman comes on with a rottweiler. We keep our distance, and so did she, but then she let her rotty off lead. They were at the opposite end of the beach to us, quite far away. But eventually, the rotty spotted Willie and bolted at high speed right across the beach and went for Willie. He kept nipping at his sides and trying to bite his neck, he was extremely aggressive and out for the kill. And all his owner did was stay on her bit of the beach and call her dog's name, which obviously wasn't working, he was too concerned with eating Willie! He wandered off, then came back in for the kill, he repeated this a few times before his owner came over to get him under control and back on his lead, poor Willie was plastered to my shins and cowering, and he'd wet himself, I stayed still when the rotty was coming in, there was no other way to do it without getting mauled myself, and as soon as he let up enough, I scooped Willie up right away and held him out of the way.

Stupid woman had the bare faced cheek to say to me she was sorry, she didn't know what was wrong with her dog, he was normally so wel behaved! And you want to know what was the icing on the cake? She said she was a dog trainer! Poor Willie hasn't been the same since.

Poor Willie
