I admire your courage.
I did everything by the book and followed my mentor and other experienced show people to the T. All informed me from the get go, that if I had a good dog, that I should hire a handler as to not ruin the dog. I did exactly that and didn't begin to show until my mentor and the handler felt my skills were good enough to take a dog into the ring myself.
