when looking at the gums, they should be moist, pink, and uniform.

Gum disease would be uncommon in a pup this young . but never say never.

Digestive problems and food, maybe more likely.

My boy went through teething with no discernable smell to his mouth. But he chewed up everything in site. lol. And he was home fed.

So next visit to your vet mention this. You should be brushing at least a few times a week, if only to get your pup used to having their mouth examined and teeth touched.
