Well, size is definitely a factor. You certainly wouldn't want to breed and extremely small girl. But it's very important to keep in mind that size is not the ONLY factor. You need to have knowledge of the size of the other dogs in her line, as well as those in the lines of the stud you will ultimately use. Also, you have to take into consideration her pelvic structure. These are areas where you need a mentor to guide you. (And you will certainly need to work with one before you get started, if you are not already.)

I see from your other posts that your female is only 8 weeks old. At this point, there is no telling what qualities she will possess as an adult. It will be well over a year before you can even determine if she is a quality representation of the breed that even should be bred. So you have lots of time to prepare as she grows and develops.
