I know I take dogs on as a lifetime commitment (the good, the bad, and the ugly) and sometimes it has been a struggle but we've always made it through to the end; however, that being said I was raised on a ranch and (had my child heart broken many a time) when a working dog "outlived" it's usefulness and look at breeders who sell off their breeding stock after they've outlived their breeding usefulness, keep it a few years, breed it, then when it's longer producing, out it goes...bath water and all. Sadly, it's a reality that people give/sell/---or worse --- their dogs when they are no longer what they wanted or "needed". |
