This is what the AKC standard says:
Weight
Must not exceed seven pounds.
American Kennel Club - Yorkshire Terrier
However, you will find on here that many of us have yorkies that are much larger than the breed standard.
I can't say anything about him being nuts, mine are tearing through the house at top speed right now...
