I once planned on traveling with two of my pups who easily would fit into one carrier. I forget which airline..either Delta or AirTran....they told me that I could take the two, BUT that when I got to the ticket counter to check in it would be up to the agent whether there was enough room for the two or not. I opted to drive instead. I was not about to make plans and run a risk of an overzealous airline employee stopping my trip.
