Levi doesn't generally have accidents when we visit an unfamiliar house. I make a point to take him on a walk around the yard before we go inside, let him sniff around, and let him go potty if he needs to. Once inside, I watch him like a hawk. I'll let him run around and play, but I do take him out to potty more often and hold him more often than if we were at home.
However, he doesn't really like to eat if he is somewhere unfamiliar. He usually eats his dry kibble plain, but if up to him, he'd completely ignore his food while we are traveling. I've found it helps in these situations to mix in a little wet food. Since he doesn't regularly get wet food mixed in with his dry, it seems like a treat and makes him willing to eat his food.
This is just what has worked for us! Levi is friendly and outgoing, but his personality does change a bit when he is in an unfamiliar house or situation.
