i saw this happen today! there is a chinese takeout restaurant right next to my shop, just across the parking lot. I was walking back to my shop when i heard a dog barking, shrieking, actually. i looked around and saw a medium-ish dog in a parked car, not under shade, with a tiny crack in the window. It was about 80 some degrees today, not sweltering, but in a parked car under the noontime sun? It's hot! i told bf and he said bring the dog some water and try to find the owner. When I went back outside I saw a young guy getting something out of the trunk, so I waved him down and asked if his dog wanted some cold water. The guy seemed thankful, and I told him it's probably really hot in the car, I heard him barking. The dog didn't want to drink any water, but I didn't want to see him put the dog back in the hot car, so I offered to watch his dog for him while he went inside the restaurant. I thought he was just going to get take out and come right back out, but he actually sat down and ate it there! I wonder if I hadn't offered to watch the dog if he would have still ate in! I waited about 15 mins maybe even more! It was long enough for bf to start complaining, that's for sure. I sat outside with him under my shade tent, i didn't want him inside with Uni, plus didn't know if he was potty trained. On top of it all, the dog had a bad limp on his front leg.
when he finally came back out, I asked him if he knew the dog had a limp, he said yes, he just got his cast taken off today. Hmm, I wonder why he broke his leg?

This was not a tiny baby, he was about 25 pounds. Then when he left, I heard the father say, let's go to so and so now, and I'm sure they left the dog in the car there too.
