If you are wrapping the coat you need special bands for wrapping coat. Lainee website has them.
My experience is the tinier the band the more difficult it is to work with, and the heavier weight as well makes it difficult to work with.
You also have light medium and heavy weight bands. I use a medium size light weight band if I'm just banding moustaches or topknot between shows. I use a medium size medium weight band for preparation of show topknot and same for the "fan".
