Instead of the cage, it might be better if you can find a low sided box that you can line with chux and towels. You want something that you can get to her quickly in, and the bars may pose a risk to getting a puppy caught.
Do you have a rectal thermometer so you can check her temp?
I'm not sure on the leaking. I'm going to go post something on the front page to see if any of the breeders are on the board right now.
