Thank You everyone for the wonderful info.I want to be sure the puppy I get was breed with care and compasion.I want the breeder to have a love in there heart for the breed.I dont want to deal with someone who knows less them me or just wants to make a quick dollar. What I find hard is I live in a small area,so its been hard finding people who actually breed them around here.
The ones in my area I have called about have honestly acted clueless to my questions about liver shunts and other stuff.
I would have a hard time buying one from the internet as I have looked at puppys online. There was a few ladies that were very helpful.I just think it would be weird to not see a dog in person pay for it and then get it and something be wrong.I don't think I could handle that.We get attached to our animals and fall in love.I want a healthy well cared for puppy.
After my doxie and her cushing's problem and loving her so much and all the time I spent at the vet with her was just sad.I know animals get old but she was 10 and that still seems young.I got her when I was 18 and I did buy her from a petstore pet city.At the time I didn't know about puppy mills. It breaks my heart to say this but I bet thats where she came from as a puppy. She was a very odd looking doxie almost chiweenie looking but small she was like 6-7 lbs tiny little head.Oh how sweet she was.
