i have the same problem with my pup. he'll go on the potty pad but not outside. we can be outside for HOURS and he'll hold it until we get back indoors and head for the potty pad.

he's also starting to play with and eating his poop too. When I catch him in the act, i give him a firm NO and put him in the crate while I clean up the mess. i'm starting to give him deter so he wont eat his poop. i started by giving him 1/2 a pill per day but 3 days have passed and he's still munching on his poop. so i'm going with a full pill from now on.

whenever he makes a mess, rather than giving him a full bath, i put on a pair of rubber gloves and use baby wipes to wipe him all over until the baby wipes is no longer stained. then wipe again with a damp paper towel, then again with a dry paper towel. it's a PITA but i think it saves his skin from exccessive bathing at least.

i'd love to hear what worked for you when you've solved the poopy eating, not going outside, habits!
