The 1/4 cup twice daily was for my 3 pound pup. That would definitely be too much for your smaller Bentley.
1/4 cup split into two meals sounds good. You can always give a few more kibble for potty treats or training treats in between meals, especially because your boy is small and needs to keep a little something in his belly.
