How old is Ollie? If he is teething the smell is from him losing his puppy teeth but if he has all of his adult teeth in then I would suggest a trip to the vet or a canine dentist to make sure there is no infection going on in his mouth. Brushing is a good start though.

As for the marking...is he neutered? You can use belly bands...they won't stop him from lifting his leg but it will stop him from being able to mark your house. If you aren't going to breed him and he isn't neutered already you might think about having that done and the marking may well stop...it did with Peanut and he was 2 when he got neutered.

Don't give up on him...it sounds like a couple of simple changes will make you both happier.
