I don't think people realize how hot the pavement really is. I think I sell more summer shoes in Arizona than anywhere else. Some people get it, some don't.
During the summer, if you are wearing shoes then your dog should be too. I can't tell you how many paw injuries I hear about because people walk their dogs in the hot summer sun, literally burning off their dog's paw pads
Why don't you tell Petsmart management? I just don't think people think about it, assuming dog's feet are made to withstand extreme conditions.
