I haven't let Gunnar out in the back yard as it being redone and torn up, but when I had my chi, he would lay on the roof shingles we had on the ground between the vegetable garden boxes. They are light gray, but still got hot. He looked like a miniature Spinx sunning himself. He never laid under the patio cover in the shade, or on the concrete. In the house he'd lay in the sunny spots on the floor. I still miss him....
