Definitely get him microchipped!!! Also I have petplan and am happy I have dog insurance just in case anything happens- there is a great article here on yorkietalk about pet insurance- that's what helped me pick petplan. Financially I would never want to worry about taking him to the vet because of money so I invested in insurance but I'm sure it's based on personal opinion- i myself like to have a back-up.
