since Reece is so young, I am assuming that you recently brought her home. Mason used to cry and whine in the crate when I first brought him home too, but I just ignored him. The more you give them attention, the more they will continue the behavior. My breeder gave me a rag that Mason used to sleep when he was with his litter - so I put that in the crate with him so he can feel close to his mommy. After about a week, he stopped crying and slept fine.
I've also read that you can put warm water in a baby bottle, wrap it in a towel and put it next to your puppy in the crate....they feel the warmth that reminds them of their mommy and sleeps well, supposedly.....I didn't have to resort to that. I also heard that you can put a clock in the crate (that ticks) which reminds them of mommy's hearbeat.....I personally haven't tried that either.
I honestly think Reece will get used to the new environment as long as you keep enforcing that the crate is her new bed. I know it's hard, but don't give in to her demands! Good luck
