I have to admit that if my vet had recommended surgery to rule out bowel obstruction when Bailey was sick last year - not knowing any better, I would have allowed it, too. I am fortunate that my vet is knowledgeable and sensible enough to perform other tests before doing something so invasive. I know its easy to sit here in hindsight and pass judgment for your vet's actions and I am sorry for doing so. I wonder if your vet is not familiar with small dogs?
I say this with the utmost compassion - because I feel so bad for what you and lil Max have gone through - but It seems that its time to find a vet that is more familiar with small dogs - specifically Yorkies.
