It glides nicely over my floors. You should be fine~last year I fell and broke my arm (have a plate and 8 screws) and am still weak on that side but I don't have any problems using mine. I just got done doing my entire house just now and I have to say I am loving it more and more. My nephew and his fiance were just here and I told him that he needs one too.
I was looking on Craigslist and they had several new still in the box for sale. I've never bought anything before but it might be worth looking into.
