Three of our five Yorkies are rescues and it took them about 1 year to show their true personality. Maximus is 8 y.o. now and we got him when he was 6. His previous owner told us that he never plays and now he is the most playful and loving little boy. He still ducks when we approach him to fast but he doesn't scream anymore. Minnie, his 3 y.o. daughter, was so shy and quiet as a mouse but that changed fast when she started playing with our puppy Mikki. Maggie is 4 y.o. now and we got her 2 years ago. She never let my husband near her until about 1 year ago. She is still a bit introverted but that has also to do with all the health issues she has and the frequent vet visits and the constant administering of medications.
Your little boy will come around, just give him a routine and not much excitement and of course tons of love and patience! Bless you! |
All of the love and patience you put in now will allow Bunker to fully reach his potential. While their personalities may be 'hard wired' he will still continue to blossom over time. Some Yorkies are naturally rambunctious, while others are more cuddle bums.
