I've used Sentinel for many years and my dogs have never had a problem with it, and never tested positive on anything it is supposed to control (heartworm, roundworm, whipworm, hookworm, and fleas). One tiny pill per month, just stick it in a little peanut butter and they lick it right up.
Downside is that it doesn't control tapeworm or ticks. However, since it controls fleas then it is highly unlikely the dog will ever get tapeworms. And I have never seen a tick on my dogs, so I'm not too worried about that at this point.
