After he had been out to potty, we lifted up the doorbell so he couldn't reach it, and it stayed up for 2-3 hours, we put in back down, hopefully when he was out of sight of the bell, and then the next time he rang it we let him out, he peed pooed whatever, in he comes up comes the bell. That went on for a week or so, and now the doorbell stays down

That sounds like a good idea. Bentley is 4 months old do you think he can bod it for 3 hours?
