Oh my... Yorkies are so funny at times aren't they...
Harley got smart like this when he was in his crate. he'd wimper once to get out in the mornings. That would be when I'd let him out...

Well a few times at night he hadn't gone to the bathroom before bed, and started to wimper... so I checked his toilet, sure enough it was dry so I'd let him out, he'd pee and I'd praise, and then back to bed for him...

Well a few nights later... he whimpered i did the same thing, and the little runt ran out of his crate, grabbed his toys and started a chase game all over the house... needless to say there was no bathroom break involved that night or the three consecutive nights this happened. He caught on that the whimper which he used to only do once or twice a day, could be turned into play time.

We started ignoring him at night. He's old enough (9 months) that unless his stomach is upset he can hold the whole night. He actually doesn't wake me up in the mornings either which is a blessing, cause for a while there, he would wake us up at 6am to go out.

It's really hard to tell what to do with him, whether you should ignore him or not. Is he peeing every time he goes outside, even when it's 15 min after the first pee? I'm interested to see what everyone has to say about this.

Good luck!
