The kitchen would be our next idea but its a galley kitchen. Then of course we could do a large pen but those are rather unsightly.

He is pretty well potty trained when he is out of the bathroom, we have him trained to go outside, when he has to go he will sit by the sliding glass door and if we dont see him he will bark until we let him out to go. He is pretty smart already for his age =].

I really love the idea of a dutch door those are adorable, but its difficult to do that to a bathroom, its less attractive there and rather pointless for the guests (it is a guest bathroom and we have gusts quite often).

Can yall see the dilemma Im in? hahaha
One thing you can try to help train him inside is a "dog potty" if he already knows to go outside, what about getting one of the grass dog toilets to have in his room at night. I've never tried them, I use a grid system which I'm really happy with, but it may help. I also crate Harley every night, but if he's going in his crate that doesn't help much. When I bought my crate, I bought a very large wired/steel crate that came with a divider. you could try something like that, that way you can make his space as big or as small as you need.

Also one thing to point out to your husband, about the outside thing, Yorkies are popular to be stolen. I thought this didn't happen in rural areas, but I heard somone's yorkie just got stolen last weekend off thier own property, it was only an hour away from where I grew up (a very rural and friendly town, where most people don't lock thier doors). Also as others have stated, these guys are not meant to be outdoor dogs.
