I felt the same way you do and actually cancelled my girl's surgery a couple of times because she wasn't even 3 lbs. and I was worried until my vet assured me that she spays kitten and rats that are only about 1 1/2 pounds!! My girls were definitely bigger than rats and that calmed me. She also only made an incision that was about 5/8" long that she could get her finger in, she doesn't use instruments so that she doesn't perforate a bowel or other organ. She also let me be there in the operating room for the surgeries and I was the one they woke up to in the recovery room. My vet hospital has an open door policy that you can be with your pet any where in the hospital, including the operating room!! I know, cool hospital, huh. Also, I never let them keep them overnight, they always come home with me and are fine!! Mine had to have 6 baby teeth pulled and it took over an hour to get the teeth out!!! Any way, make sure that your vet is comfortable doing the little ones and ask if you could stay with her and bring her home when you are done. Good Luck and relax.
