Websites can be made to look and sound ok but many are not You have to know how to recognize the red flags of what not to go to.
A reputable breeder will always want to interview a prospective new owner of one of their dogs or puppies. They will give you all the help and advice you need if you meet their requirements. Personally, I insist on meeting the buyer and anyone the buyer lives with be it spouse roommate, other family etc before i will consider selling a puppy.
Anyone coming to me for a puppy has to realize they may be turned down and I will tell them why.
There is a lot more involved but htat gives you the jist of what to look for in a breeder. it is much better if you can buy local, visit them, find out more about them before you purchase.
