I don't have any pictures of long haired yorkies without topknots, but I can tell you that yes that is what they look like, that is how the hair naturally falls. The hair does poke the eyes and they get a lot more eye boogers that way. But if you don't want the topknot you can have the hair cut on the head so that it won't get in the eyes.
