My 4 month old furbutt just recently started getting impatient and demanding with me haha, if I'm on the couch with my laptop working on some work or in the kitchen cooking he will bring his toys and sit them next to my feet, look up and bark at me non-stop (and growl!) until I give in and play with him. This will go on the entire time I'm home and when I'm walking around he will chase after me like a crazy person! It's kinda cute haha but he does act like the world is going to end if I don't give him attention....not sure how to fix this but I wouldn't have gotten a pup if I didn't want to play with him!
My Roxie is the same age as your "furbutt" Oliver and has similar actions (minus the growling and barking, I don't think shes figured out how to do that yet ) soo crazy, but I love it!
Mine is 4 months old too and does the same thing when she wants to play. The thing is she never barks at anyone else...just me...and just when she wants to play. It upset me the first time she barked and growled at me till i figured out she was playing.
