Animal Smiley 019 He won't stop ringing the bell HELP!

We have successfully trained our 4 month old Bentley to ring the "tell bell" when he needs to go outside. It took about 2 weeks but he started ringing it to go out and we're past 30 days of no accidents inside. This is great. However. he rings that bell every hour to half hour!! We don't know what to do. We don't want to think the bell is a bad thing (so don't want to scold) and we don't want him to regress and start going inside by us ignoring him. I've been told puppies can hold it at least 4 hours - so Im thinking of ignoring him - honestly he will go out and pee and come in and ring it in 15 minutes. We do live in a busy apartment complex so I realize often it's a cat or a car he sees, but along with the ringing he has started barking if he is ignored for too long or just keeps angrily stomping on the bell repeatedly. Anybody else had this problem or anyone have any suggestions?? Thank you
