Repetition is what has worked for Raley. I started leash training him within a few days of getting him. He is great on a leash!! I never allow him to "stop" unless he signals to me that he has to go potty. He wears a harness and if he tries to stop or becomes distracted I tug the leash and say no. If I sit on a bench to take a break he will either sit or lie down. It is just like potty training, you have to be persistent and consistent.
