This chihuahua puppy belongs to a friend. She is 8 months old and about 3.5 pounds. She has been having these episodes where she gets disoriented and acts drunk, staggering, tremors, etc.
The first time she did it, she took her to the emergency vet and they ran tests, but everything came back OK. Blood glucose was fine, she was NOT hypoglycemic. (Even though it kind of looks like it on the video).
Both times this has happened, it has lasted several hours! She sleeps hard after and then wakes up normal.
Her vet then ran bloodwork the next morning and everything came back normal. Bile acid tests were normal. (They thought liver shunt, but it came back ok).
She has not gotten into any poisons, nothing has changed in the house. The first time she just chalked it up to some mysterious illness, but now it has happened again.
Can you guys look at the video and give me any feedback???? Her owner is just beside herself. She's in Canada and is going to take her to Guelph, but does anyone have any ideas at all what this could be? A seizure?
