Default What about food?

What kind of food are you feeding right now?

When I switched my dog from kibble to home-cooked food, he pretty much stopped drinking water from his bowl...he'll drink straight water if it's really hot out and he's been outside for a little while, but other than that he gets so much water from his food, he is really not thirsty very often. (Sometimes I still worry about him because he does get so much exercise and plays so hard and it IS so hot out...so I mix extra water in with his meals).
If you are feeding your puppy wet food, he may be getting so much moisture from his food, he may just not feel the need to drink. Maybe the Nutri-Cal makes the water taste like a treat so he drinks it even though he doesn't necessarily need it at the time. If he is very young, which he appears to be (and you might need to be more concerned about him easily getting dehydrated); if you are feeding him a food that he may be getting a lot of moisture from already, it may be worth giving the vet a call and finding out if they think.
