For Mac, put the picture on your desktop and click on it. Check under "Edit" or "Tools" for "Resize." I usually do 25% or 30% to get the correct size for YorkieTalk. Then make sure you "Save" the picture to complete the resizing.
If you need more help, let me know. I'm not using my Mac right now so I can't look and give you more detailed instructions. There is also a way to resize in IPhoto, but I like to drag a copy to my desktop so that the original photograph is retained.
