I boil the water for my dogs and keep it in a container in the fridge. Boiling removes any chlorine and they like it fine. And they like water right from the fridge but not if they have gotten overheated. Drinking water that is too cold for an overheated dog can create real trouble.
They also love it when I hold the pitcher up to pour it so it goes into the dish like a fountain.
I have also been told that throwing a little grated cheese on the surface can get them drinking. I have never done that and be sure to change it often if you do.
My bet is there is something in the taste that is putting him off.
That is all great advice. I'll also add that Cooper loves drinking directly from a container, or when I'm pouring it into his water dish. You might want to try making it more fun for Skip. Would he drink it if you pour a little bit into your hand?
