Try stopping and switching directions in leash walking. And don't always walk the same direction. Walk different ways so it doesn't become too familiar. Reward them when they do it right. And make it fun. Sometimes, you can tell the to "run". Other times, you can tell them "slow." Above all, try to get them to focus on you. When they look at you while walking by your side, praise and reward. When they tug, stop or switch directions. Just be consistent and it'll pay off.
