The vet and a colleague both agreed that we should give it time to work its way out, that it would be very difficult to go in and remove such very very small pieces and be able to get them all. Since she is acting normal and not in pain, and there is no swelling, they want to do another x-ray on Monday. The stuff she ate is very crumbly and that is why they believe it will pass over the weekend.
I was wondering the same thing about why they didn't want to do surgery immediately. But, since there are small pieces, I feel they, too, will pass.
At the sign of any discomfort or any change in her, I will immediately take her to the ER.
He gave her medication: Antibiotic to help prevent a small chance of tetanus; Reglan; Sucralfate and W/D.
I'll let everyone know the outcome next week. Thanks everybody for being there for us. | This sounds like really good news! I'll keep her in my prayers that she passes everything with no problem. Sending her more huggins - she scared me!
